Get Ready for Fan Fest Northwest:
A Celebration of Fandom That Makes a Difference
A Yakima Comic Con, where proceeds go to young people experiencing homelessness.
What is Fan Fest Northwest?
Fan Fest Northwest is a “Comic Con” event coming to Yakima, but it’s more than just a pop culture convention. This one-day, family-friendly event brings together everything you love about pop culture, cosplay, gaming, and fandom, all in support of a cause: helping youth and young adults experiencing homelessness.
Hosted by Rod’s House, every ticket sale goes to resources and services that help young people in need. Fan Fest offers an exciting and creative way to raise funds for the young people in our community. With general admission tickets priced at just $35 (and kids under 12 getting in free with a paid adult!) it’s an accessible and inclusive experience for fans of all ages.
What can you expect at Fan Fest?
The day will be packed with activities and attractions for everyone. Celebrity and voice actor meet-and-greets will offer a chance to connect with some pretty cool stars.
This event is in October for a reason. Near Halloween and the costume season, we deeply encourage people to celebrate their fandoms and creativity in the form of cosplay. We’re even hosting a cosplay contest, judged in part by professional cosplayer Jason Wells, and we’re excited to see everyone’s different props, wigs, accessories, and make-up skills.
Interactive gaming stations, including VR demos and new game testing, will keep gamers engaged. There’ll also be rows of pop culture merchandisers and local creators in the form of an Artist Alley and Exhibitor Hall.
How you can help:
- Ready to join the fun and support the Rod’s House mission? Simply buy your ticket! Every ticket purchase is simultaneously a donation.
- Spread the word. Share our posts! Invite your family and friends. This is big. Not everyone in the community knows, and word of mouth is very powerful.
- Volunteer! We’ll need people to help us manage the event, and volunteers get free access to Fan Fest.
- Are you an artist, merchant, creator? Become a vendor! We’re still accepting vendors and your vendor rental spot goes to resources for youth and young adults. Application to apply is here: fanfestnw.com
- Follow us on Facebook and Instagram!
- Visit www.fanfestnw.com to get tickets or learn more.
Fan Fest isn’t just about having fun. It’s about using that energy and excitement to create positive change. Every dollar raised goes directly to Rod’s House programs, which provide youth with access to safety, housing, education, and employment support. It’s a chance for our community to come together, celebrate what we love, and support our work. So join us in the comic con for a cause!
We’ll have celebrity guest appearances, a cosplay contest, interactive gaming, vendors, and more.
